What All Marketers and Businesses Should Know About the EU Cookie Law // 7 Essential steps towards cookie compliancy’

As you already know I’ve just graduated with a BA (Hons) in Events Management and Marketing. I completed two thesis projects, both achieving distinction grades. Digital marketing was the focus for both. The topics were:

While gathering research on cookies, privacy and consumer behavior for the co-authored thesis ‘EU Cookie Law and the Impact On Digital Marketing (and online consumer behavior)’ a number of individuals and SME’s asked me to consult for a fee.  But why would I do that when the information is already out there for free? Hence I declined and advised where further information could be found.

Six months later and I am surprised at the number of websites that I have come across which appear not to be cookie compliant – yet. A quick Google search* revealed the majority of those found yet to be cookie compliant fall within the bracket of “SME’s and individuals who provide a service and use a website to connect/market what they do”. The finding was the catalyst for the creation of this FREE download White Paper entitled ‘What All Marketers and Businesses Should Know About the EU Cookie Law // 7 Essential steps towards cookie compliancy’

It should be noted that working towards compliance could be a lengthy process depending on the size of the task. However, whatever the size of the task, steps towards cookie compliance should never be rushed. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’. See what works for you.

Through the research conducted for the co-authored thesis project ‘EU Cookie Law and the Impact On Digital Marketing’, arguments both for and against the change in regulation were presented. Regardless of our findings, fact is, the law is live. Further the ICO has now placed a call–to–action button on it’s website so consumers can report cookie abuse concerns. A report detailing findings will be published by the ICO in due course, just wish this was available before we completed our project, eh Tina.

Reach Falls: Portland Parish, Jamaica

As you already know I love to explore. One of my favourite destinations is Jamaica. I love the mystic energy of Jamaica and it’s natural beauty. I’m often found lazing on the beach or exploring Jamaicas natural wonders.

If you plan on visiting Jamaica and want to experience something a little bit different from the beach (as gorgeous as it is) Reach Falls is the alternative day trip that you will enjoy.

Reach Falls lies about a mile below the John Crew river up a steep mountain. Recently opened to the public, the secluded Reach Falls is set deep in the rainforest and nearby banana plantations. Incidentally this is also just one of the many film locations picked for Tom Cruises 80’s movie classic ‘Cocktail’. The following is what I experienced when I visited Reach Falls.

“Total bliss. Totally stunning!”

A cooling walk through rainforests lead us to well maintained wooden huts where we were welcomed to change into our swimwear. We paid a small fee of 10 USD to experience the natural wonders of Reach Falls.

A friendly guide lead our small party up the limestone rock and encouraged us to swim in the most dazzling hue of clear blue mineral water across bottomless pools and natural jacuzzis.

Once half way up Reach Falls our party was invited to descend beneath the water, into a underwater cave complete with underwater waterfalls. Perfect timing for a quick rest before the descent down to relax and unwind in the river set below. I highly recommend Reach Falls, Jamaica. See what others have to say.
